[edit] Biographical Information
Although Richard Hidalgo's 2001 season was not nearly as good as his 2000 campaign, he still started 2001 by going 6 for 12 with three home runs, a triple, a double, four runs scored, ten runs batted in and a 1.500 slugging percentage.
Again showing off his power with the New York Mets in 2004, Hidalgo hit eight home runs in his first 16 games with them, including five home runs against the New York Yankees. He set the Mets record by homering in five straight games from July 1 to July 5 - and he hadn't even been a Met for three weeks.
