Rich Wortham had one save in his major league career. It came on June 3, 1980 as a member of the Chicago White Sox against the Texas Rangers. He pitched the last out of a 5-4 victory, getting Pat Putnam to groundout with runners on 1st and 2nd.
Wortham outdueled Dennis Martinez, 1-0, in the finale of the 1973 FEMBA Amateur World Series to help Team USA win its first Gold Medal ever in an Amateur World Series.
