Outfielder Rich Miller was drafted in the 6th round of the 1973 amateur draft and played 8 years in the New York Mets' organization hitting a cumulative .258 in 679 games. He made the New York-Penn League All-Star team in 1973.
Managed the Shelby Mets in 1982, the Columbia Mets in 1984 and part of 1985, and the Little Falls Mets in 1981 and 1986-1987. Was a scout for the Mets in 1983, and coached for the Tidewater Tides in 1988-1990. Joined the Minnesota Twins organization in 2004. Coached the Rochester Red Wings in 2004, 2006-2007. In 2005, he was interim manager for the Red Wings. Miller was the Outfield and Baserunning Roving Instructor for the Twins in 2008 then was Hitting Coach for the Twins' A ball team in Beloit, WI for the first half of 2009 and back to coaching in Rochester for the last half. In 2010 he joined the Toronto Blue Jays in his current position as Outfield, Baserunning Roving Instructor.
