Outfielder Rich Miller was drafted in the 6th round of the 1973 amateur draft and played 9 years in the New York Mets' organization hitting a cumulative .258 in 679 games. He made the New York-Penn League All-Star team in 1973.
Managed the Shelby Mets in 1982, the Columbia Mets in 1984 and part of 1985, and the Little Falls Mets in 1981 and 1986-1987. Was a scout for the Mets in 1983, and coached for the Tidewater Tides in 1988-1990. Coached the Rochester Red Wings in 2006-2008.
