They briefly were back from 1980 to 1982, then returned once more from 1995 through 2003. They won their only Liga pennant in 1969 - no one on the team hit double-digit homers or drove in more than 62 runs, but the team boasted great pitching marks - Salvador Sanchez was 22-12 with a 1.84 ERA, Jose Pena 11-5 with a 1.35 ERA, Israel Buentello 11-4 with a 2.45 ERA and Alejo Ahumada 12-4 with a 2.07 ERA.
In 2009, they once again joined the liga, replacing the Tijuana Colts.
