Renyel Pinto was signed by scout Alberto Rondon for the Chicago Cubs in Jan 1999. He made his pro debut that summer for the DSL Cubs.

Pinto signed with the SoftBank Hawks for 2012. He debuted on April 5, the day after Brad Penny, and did much better than the other Hawks import, allowing two runs in five innings (4 hits, 4 walks) to get the win over the Rakuten Golden Eagles.
