The March 22, 2007 edition of the Westfield Leader indicates that "colorful" Red Waller was the star of the 1903 staff of the Westfield, NJ, team.
In April 1905 the N.Y. Times reported that Red Waller of the "Manhattans" would pitch against the black Philadelphia Giants ("champion colored team of the world"), who Waller had shut out three times in the previous season.
In August 1909 the N.Y. Times reported that he pitched for Jersey City, holding Rochester to only one run in nine innings.
In October 1910 the N.Y. Times reported that he would pitch a game for a team based in Hoboken.
