Red Phillips was in the major a couple years with the Detroit Tigers. He also played in 1934 with Montreal.
In the 1940's and 1950's he managed semi-pro teams (Boeing) and independent teams.
He is sometimes referred to "Clarence 'Red' Phillips" to distinguish from other players named Phillips.
