[edit] Biographical Information

Infielder Red Borom played many years of semi-pro and minor league ball, starting in 1934 and finishing in 1954. He was in the majors with the Detroit Tigers in 1944 and 1945 and appeared in two games of the 1945 World Series. In a September 1, 1945 game against the Cleveland Indians, he went 5-for-5.

Borom managed the Texarkana Bears in 1948 and the Baton Rouge Red Sticks in 1949. He was a player-coach for the Fort Worth Cats in 1950.

Outside of baseball, Borom ran a steak house, worked for the post office, worked for Plymouth Oil, and then was in the trucking business for many years.
