[edit] Biographical Information

Red Badgro, who was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981, played two years in the major leagues.

He was one of the first major leaguers out of USC.

He fought for playing time in right field on the St. Louis Browns with Beauty McGowan in 1929 and Tedd Gullic in 1930. Heinie Manush was the left fielder in 1929 while Goose Goslin played there in 1930.

In 1928, the year before he made his major league debut, he hit .394 in 37 games at Muskogee and .334 in 92 games at Tulsa.

His name is pronounced "Badge-row" not "Bad-grow".
