Raynard Doran was signed by the Minnesota Twins after being scouted by Lester Victoria. The outfielder hit .222/.298/.253 in 64 games in 2006 for the DSL Twins, making his pro debut at age 18. In 2007, he did worse, batting just .160/.268/.221 in 53 games for the same club.
Doran was moved to the pitcher's mound in 2008. He went 2-0 with a 2.55 ERA in 12 games for the DSL Twins but walked 12 in 17 2/3 IP. He was on the preliminary Dutch roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
