Since 1987, Ray Smith has been a manager or coach with the Elizabethton Twins of the Appalachian League. As skipper, he has led the team to six league titles. He was the manager from 1987 to 1994 and from 2002 to present (2008).
Smith also played for the club in 1977, and hit .303.
