Randy Wiles pitched in 5 games for the 1977 White Sox. He didn't start any game but was involved in 2 decisions. He got a win on August 8, 1977 against the Seattle Mariners. He pitched the last 2 outs of the 9th inning, then Lamar Johnson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th, to win the game, 5-4. His loss came on August 16, 1977 against the New York Yankees. He came into the game in the bottom of the 8th inning and retired Mickey Rivers and Roy White. The White Sox then rallied for 6 runs in the top of the 9th against Sparky Lyle and Ken Clay. Wiles came back out to pitch the bottom of the ninth and gave up a walk to Thurman Munson, a sacrifice to Lou Piniella and a walk-off home run to Chris Chambliss. Wiles did not appear in another major league game after that day.
