Randy Tate is the most futile hitter of all time. He had 41 career at bats without a hit. His 47 plate appearances without a hit are a record too. Randy played in 1975 for the Santurce Crabbers of the Puerto Rico Winter Baseball League. Santurce fans never forgot his pitching duels with Eddie Figueroa of the Caguas Creoles.
