[edit] Biographical Information
Randy Bush was signed as a 2nd round pick in the 1979 amateur draft by the Minnesota Twins and scout Ed Dunn.
Bush returned to UNO as head coach from 2000 to 2004. He then moved into the front office of the Chicago Cubs. In 2011 he was the Assistant GM of the Cubs and was named intermn GM on August 19 after the firing of Jim Hendry. Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts stated at the time, however, that Bush was not in line to succeed Hendry on a full-time basis. Indeed, newly-named team president Theo Epstein named his close friend Jed Hoyer as the team's new GM on October 26th.
He has been inducted into the University of New Orleans Hall of Fame [1].
