Rafael Castro pitched two seasons in the minor leagues before an untimely death at age 18.

Castro was 0-2 with a 3.96 ERA for the 2008 VSL Mets with 26 strikeouts in 25 innings. In 2009, he went 0-1 with a 9.39 ERA, 11 hits and 9 walks for the VSL Mets in 7 2/3 IP. He died later that year of an apparent heart attack.
