[edit] Biographical Information
Q.V. Lowe was an All-American in 1967 at Auburn University and was drafted in the 19th round of the 1967 amateur draft by the Chicago Cubs. He pitched for the Lodi Crushers in 1967 and the San Antonio Missions in 1968-1971. Lowe also served as the Missions' pitching coach for his last two years there.
Lowe was a Chicago Cubs coach in 1972 and a minor league manager. Lowe also spent time as a minor league coach in the New York Yankees chain from the 1970s to 1984 and for the Montreal Expos in 1985.
Lowe was the head coach at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College from 1975 to 1981. He was given the job of head coach at Auburn University at Montgomery, which had no baseball program, in 1986 and has been the head coach since the school's inaugural season in 1987. He has taken AUM to the NAIA College World Series in 1990, 1992, and 2006.
