Prague is presently the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. It was the capital of Czechoslovakia between 1918 and 1991, and previously was the capital of Bohemia, a province of Austria-Hungary. It is the birthplace of former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Hugo Bezdek, minor league pitcher Pavel Budský, Martin Červenka, minor league outfielder Matěj Hejma, minor league infielder Jakub Sládek, minor league catcher Daniel Vavruša, Orioles signee Jan Novak and Reds signee Tomáš Sýkora. Prague helped host the 2005 European Championship and hosted three games of the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
