Position player
From BR Bullpen
A position player is a player who plays at one of the fielding positions other than pitcher. The pitcher/position player distinction is one of the most important in baseball. While position players are occasionally called on to pitch in emergencies or blowout games and a handful of regular pitchers have been used as position players in similar emergencies, there have been very few true two way players in baseball history. Only slightly more common are players who were either converted from position player to pitcher or from pitcher to position player.
