BUILT: 1947
DEMOLISHED: 1991
Built in 1947, Sec Taylor Stadium was located in Des Moines, IA and originally known as Pioneer Memorial Stadium. In 1959, the park was renamed Sec Taylor Stadium in honor of Des Moines Register sports editor Sec Taylor. It was home of the Iowa Cubs through the 1991 season. The stadium was completely demolished and a new ballpark Sec Taylor Stadium (II) took it's place from 1992 through 2004. It too, was demolished to make way for Principal Park, which is currently the home of the Cubs.
