Pinky Pittenger played seven seasons in the majors as a middle infielder and occasional outfielder. Formerly known as "Pittinger", sources may spell his name that way.
Pittenger had played in 1920 for the London Tecumsehs, a team which went 86-32. He and Ernie Neitzke were picked up by the Boston Red Sox from that team. Pittenger had also played for London in 1919.
Pinky was in the majors in 1921-23, then in 1925, and again in 1927-29. In 1924 he played for Salt Lake City, hitting .319, and in 1926 he was with Louisville, hitting .312. Tony Lazzeri and Lefty O'Doul were teammates at Salt Lake City, while Earl Webb, who would later break the major league single-season doubles record, was a teammate at Louisville.
