Phil Ketter, who was born and died in St. Louis, MO, appeared in two games for the 1912 St. Louis Browns. The Browns went through eight catchers that year, with none appearing in more than 66 games. The most often used catcher, Jim Stephens, was in his last season in the majors, as was Paul Krichell, the second most often used catcher. Lou Criger, a 16-year veteran, also finished out his major league career at catcher that year with the Browns. And Phil Ketter appeared in two games in May at catcher, hit .333, had 3 assists, no errors in the field, and no passed balls.
