Peter Schöön was a member of the Swedish national team from 1978-1997 and coached the team in the 2005 Baseball World Cup. Schöön had originally played hockey and chose baseball to give him something to do in the summers. In the 1995 European Championship, he was 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA on the hill while batting .304/.484/.696 with 7 runs and 10 RBI in 7 games. He finished 10th in the event in slugging. In the 1994 Baseball World Cup, he was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA and hit .167/.259/.375 with 9 strikeouts in 24 AB as a 1B-P.
