Peter Willis Cawthon
Pete Cawthon was a college coach.
Cawthon played baseball, football (halfback) and basketball in college. When the baseball coach left due to World War I, Cawthon took over that role. He then coached baseball at Rice Institute in 1920-1921, working with Eddie Dyer, the first major from Rice. Cawthon spent the rest of his career coaching football, including 11 years at Texas Technological University and two in the NFL with the Brooklyn Dodgers-Tigers (1943-1944).
