Pennsylvania Red Caps of New York
From BR Bullpen
The Pennsylvania Red Caps did not actually originate in Pennsylvania, but rather was named after Pennsylvania Station in New York, NY. The team played in the Negro Leagues in the late 19s0 through early 1930s, but never played in an official league and was generally a marginal team. They were at their peak from 1917 through 1919.
During the 1930s, they played their games at Freeport Stadium in Freeport, NY, Long Island, NY.
