Pembroke Finlayson had a couple cups of coffee with the Brooklyn Superbas at ages 19 and 20. Not long thereafter, he died at age 23 - he had a heart problem for which he had surgery, and then he tried to come back to baseball too soon and overstressed himself.
Ron Schuler's website has a long article about Finlayson, who was called "The Midget Twirler". Although born in South Carolina he partly grew up in Brooklyn, where baseball was common. He played amateur ball, then for a railroad's team, and then for Lynn in the New England League. In 1908 he played for Rochester, Nashville, and Brockton. He apparently stayed with Brockton in 1909. In 1910 he was with Lawrence, Providence, and Rochester. In 1911 he was with Memphis. He died in 1912, leaving behind a wife, a son, and a daughter. Source: Pembroke Finlayson
