[edit] Biographical Information
Philip "Peaches" O'Neill was with the 1902 Cincinnati Reds. He made his debut in April 1904 and played his last major league game in August 1904. He played mostly catcher.
O'Neill was born in Anderson, IN, northeast of Indianapolis. He attended the University of Notre Dame, also in Indiana, and was there at the same time as a number of other future major leaguers, the most prominent of which was Bob Bescher.
According to SABR, he also worked as an attorney during off-seasons.
He is one of only three major leaguers remembered with the first name Peaches. The first, Peaches Graham, came up earlier than O'Neill for a couple cups of coffee but only became prominent in 1908.
