 Biographical Information
Paul Schoendienst, a brother of Red Schoendienst, was a minor league player and manager. He began his career in 1941 with the Clovis Pioneers and hit .369 with 7 homers and 133 RBI. He finished third in the West Texas-New Mexico League in average and was second in RBI. In 1942, Paul batted .300 with 2 HR and 32 RBI for the Anniston Rams and also played for two other clubs - the Shreveport Sports (.196, 0 HR, 4 RBI) and Waterloo Hawks (.287, 1 HR). Schoendienst served in the military in 1943 and 1944.
In 1945, Paul returned to baseball and batted .315 with 2 HR and 48 RBI for the St. Paul Saints. He briefly played in 1946 for the Danville Dodgers and also spent some time with the Montreal Royals, hitting a fine .361/~.391/.443 in 16 games, 11 of them at first base (it was the year that Jackie Robinson played second base for Montreal). He only batted .226 with 6 RBI for the 1948 Waterloo White Hawks.
He managed the Seminole Oilers in 1949.
