Paul Emmel has been a MLB umpire for a decade (through 2008). He began umpiring while in college. In the minors, he worked in the 1992-1993 New York-Penn League, 1994 South Atlantic League, 1995 Carolina League, 1996 Florida State League, 1997-1998 Eastern League and 1998 International League. Emmel came to the majors in 1999. He worked the 2002 All-Star Game and will work the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
