[edit] Biographical Information
First baseman and designated hitter Paul Sorrento was signed by the California Angels and scout Al Goldis as the 4th Round pick in the 1986 amateur draft. Following the 1988 season, he was traded by the Angels to the Minnesota Twins in the deal that sent Bert Blyleven to the Angels. He was named to the AA Southern League's All-Star team in 1989 and led the league with 35 doubles and 112 RBI. His 27 home runs was second to MVP Eric Anthony's 28.
Sorrento became a coach with the Inland Empire 66ers in 2012.
