Paul Chervinko was in the majors for two seasons, the minors for 13, and managed in the minors nine years.
The Danville team he managed in 1947 went 79-47 to win the league. One of his pitchers was Carl Erskine.
He played service ball while stationed at Kelly Field in Texas in 1945. A teammate on the service team was Clarence Beers.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired after working 17 years for Olin-Mathieson Company at Covington IN.
