When Patrick Newnam hit .216 for the 1910 St. Louis Browns, he was only 2 points below the team average of .218. The next year he hit .194 in 20 games - but John Black, the player who appeared in the most games at first base, hit .151.
Led all minor leagues with 18 HR in 1908 for the San Antonio Bronchos.
Umpired in the Texas League in 1924.
President of the Gulf Coast League in 1926 and the Lone Star League in 1927.
