Pat Roessler was a minor league hitting coach in the Chicago White Sox system from 1988 to 1994, the Montreal Expos chain from 1995 to 1997 and the Pittsburgh Pirates chain from 1998 to 1999. He was the big league Expos hitting coach in 2000 and 2001. After the 2001 season, he was named the Houston Astros minor league hitting coordinator. In 2006, Roessler, the New York Yankees' Director of Player Development, served as interim manager of the Charleston RiverDogs after the resignation of Bill Mosiello.
