[edit] Biographical Information
Pitcher Pat Rice made his big league debut with the Seattle Mariners on May 18, 1991, starting a game against the New York Yankees and earning the win. He did not allow an earned run in his first four big league games, a span of 13 innings. He got his second big league start on June 16, losing to the Detroit Tigers. However, that was his final big league game, and his career in the majors lasted just under a month. His minor league career ended after the following season.
After being out of baseball for two years, Rice was the pitching coach of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from 1995 to 1997 and the New Haven Ravens in 1998-1999. From 2000 to 2007 he was the Mariners minor league pitching coordinator. In 2008, Rice became the pitching coach of the San Jose Giants. In 2009 Rice moves up to the Fresno Grizzlies.
