[edit] Biographical Information
Pat Patterson hit very well for the 1921 New York Giants, who went on to win the 1921 World Series. Patterson posted numbers of .400/.432/.486 in 35 at-bats between April 14 and June 29. An infielder, he backed up Frankie Frisch at third and Dave Bancroft at shortstop, neither of whom hit as well as he did. However, their range factors were better, and that may have made the difference.
His gravestone says he was born in 1897. See www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6871356
