[edit] Biographical Information
Pat McCauley was a catcher who played three times in the major leagues, several years apart. He played 5 games for the 1893 St. Louis Browns, then after three years had 26 games with the 1896 Washington Senators, and seven years later had 6 games with the 1903 New York Highlanders. It was the inaugural year for the New Yorkers, having moved over from Baltimore.
A baseball card exists of a Pat McCauley with Portsmouth of the Virginia League in 1909. McCauley's minor league career ran from 1892-1910, mostly in the New England League, the Western League and the Eastern League. He was in the Eastern League eleven years.
He also served as an umpire.
He died at age 46.
