[edit] Biographical Information
Pat Jarvis is an answer to two trivia questions. In 1966, he was the first strikeout victim of Nolan Ryan. Four years later, he surrendered Willie Mays' 500th home run.
After retiring from baseball, Jarvis served several terms as sheriff of De Kalb County, in suburban Atlanta. He was ultimately convicted of corruption charges associated with the management of the De Kalb County jail.
