The Lakers began play in the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League, the predecessor of the MWL (1950–1955). In 1907–1908, Paris had fielded a team in the Eastern Illinois League.[1]From 1950 to 1954, the Lakers were independent and from 1955–1959, they were affiliated with the Chicago Cubs.[1]
