The Panama Banqueros went 15-36 in the Inter-American League in 1979 and folded at the end of the first half, having won the fewest games but avoiding last because the Puerto Rico Boricuas had a worse winning percentage. Chico Salmon and Willie Miranda managed the team, whose 4.12 ERA was worst in the circuit. They drew an average of 800 fans.
