[edit] Biographical Information

Since his playing career ended, catcher Orlando Mercado has been a coach in the Angels organization. He was a player/coach for the Vancouver Canadians in 1994, then a coach with the AZL Angels (1995-1996), Midland Angels (1997) and Butte Copper Kings (1998-1999). From 2000 to 2002 he was the bullpen catcher for the Angels, and has been the bullpen coach since 2003.

Mercado is the father of Orlando Mercado Jr.
