Oneri Fleita has been with the Chicago Cubs organization for over a decade.
Fleita was the 1988 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. The first baseman then played in the minors in 1988-1989 for the Baltimore Orioles, who hired him as a minor league coach. In 1993-1994, he managed the GCL Orioles. Fleita was hired by the Chicago Cubs in 1995 to manage the Williamsport Cubs. In 1996, he was a Midwest scout for Chicago. From 1997-2008, he has been the director of the Cubs' Latin American operations. He also has been director of Player Development from 2000-2008.
