Originally founded in 1966 as the Oneonta Red Sox, and becoming the Oneonta Yankees in 1967, the Oneonta team in the New York-Penn League became known as the Oneonta Tigers when they joined the Detroit Tigers organization in 1999. The O-Tigers played their home games at Damaschke Field in Oneonta, New York, the only dry ballpark in professional baseball. After the 2009 season the team moved to Norwich, CT to play as the Connecticut Tigers.
