The long-time AAA entry of the Kansas City Royals, the Omaha Royals were members of the American Association throughout its final run, 1969 to 1997. There they won three league titles, in 1970, 1978, and 1990. After the AA dissolved, they joined the Pacific Coast League and have operated there since then, except for four years when they changed their name to the Omaha Golden Spikes. The KC Royals have never had another AAA affiliate. Since their inception, the Omaha Royals have played their home games at Rosenblatt Stadium.
