Olman Antonio Rostrán

Olman Rostrán has represented Nicaragua on the international stage several times. Rostrán allowed 3 runs in 3 1/3 IP in the 1998 Baseball World Cup at age 20. In the 2001 Baseball World Cup, he pitched two scoreless innings and registered a save. During the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he had a 1-1, 2.45 record. In the 2003 Pan American Games, Rostrán four-hit Team USA to end a 25-game winning streak by the Americans. He beat Justin Verlander in the game, while the US offense included Tyler Greene, Brent Lillibridge, Seth Smith, Jeff Clement, Eric Patterson and probably Jeff Larish. Nicaragua fell just short of a Bronze Medal that year.
The right-hander was 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, taking a loss against Japan when he got poor run support. Only Wilton Lopez and Oswaldo Mairena had lower ERAs on the Nicaraguan staff. He retired all three batters he faced in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games.
