Northwestern League
From BR Bullpen
The first Northwestern League was a minor league from 1883-1884, and again from 1886-1887. The first of these two was located more in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois, while the second was in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and St. Paul competed in 1884 and 1886-1887.
The Northwestern League name was revived in 1905 as a class B league and ran through 1917 before changing names to the Pacific Coast International League. This version of the league was centered in Washington, with Oregon, Montana, and British Columbia competing as well.
