Noé Muñoz, who played briefly in the majors, has had a long career in Mexican baseball.
Muñoz was up briefly with the 1995 Dodgers in Tommy Lasorda's last full season as a manager. The regular catcher that year was Mike Piazza, who slugged over .600.
He was 2 for 22 for the Mexican national team in the 2006 Americas qualifier for the 2008 Olympics. In the 2007 Pan American Games, he was 0 for 4 as a back-up to Gerónimo Gil.
Muñoz backed up Iker Franco in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, going 2 for 7 and reaching base in 5 of 10 appearances.
