Nin Alexander played in the majors in 1884. He also played and managed in the minors.
The Sporting Life of March 5, 1892 stated: "Nin Alexander, the manager of the old St. Joe club, still takes a lively interest in base ball, although he has quit that business and for a long while has been engaged at Pana, Ill., as a butcher."
The book The National Game by Alfred Spink featured a photo of Alexander, calling him "one of the first of the old catchers to catch the ball up close to the bat".
