Niles "Sonny" Jordan joined the Navy after graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1943. Following World War II, he attended Mount Vernon Junior College before signing with the Philadelphia Phillies. He had cups of coffee in the majors with the 1951 Phillies and 1952 Cincinnati Reds.
After his baseball career, Jordan returned to Sedro-Woolley, just miles from his birthplace. He worked in the lumber industry for many years and died in 2008 at age 82.
