Nigel Thatch was the actor who played Leon in a series of Budweiser ads. In May 2005, he signed a with the Northern League's Schaumburg Flyers. He appeared in 7 games as a pitcher with 3 starts and 3 losses. He gave up 24 hits and 22 runs in 12.3 innings with a 10.22 ERA.
Thatch was traded by the Flyers to the Fullerton Flyers of the Golden Baseball League on April 26, 2006. In return for Thatch's playing rights, Fullerton sent Schaumburg a pallet of beer.
