[edit] Biographical Information

Nick Tremark was with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1934-36, the three years when Casey Stengel managed them.

At age 15, he played on an American Legion team that won the New York state championship. He was a star at Yonkers High School, in the Yonkers Baseball League, and at Manhattan College. He came to the Dodgers right out of college.

He was the shortest player in the league, and was used often as a pinch-hitter.

After his Dodgers days he played in the minors, hitting well over .300 several times. He was in the Navy from 1943-46 and played service ball with Ted Williams. After the war he played semi-pro ball. He later worked in the restaurant business and was a teacher. He was ranked #1 in the state of Texas for tennis players of age 65+. Source: Yonkers remembers Tremark
