Nick Picciuto played for Michigan State University in 1942. He debuted as a pro baseball player with the 1944 Utica Blue Sox, hitting .266/~.358/.386 and leading the Eastern League by getting hit by 10 pitches. In 1945 with the Minneapolis Millers, he hit .262 with eight homers. The 1945 Phillies gave him 36 games in the major leagues, mostly at third base, in the talent-depleted World War II season. In 1946, back with Utica of the Eastern League, he tied for the lead in home runs (12) and hit .288/~.372/.440. He completed his career in '47 by batting .278 for the Hartford Chiefs and .182 in scant time for the Tulsa Drillers.
